Rooms are just about the most neglected area of nursing homes - even if the first room that everyone sees. My little corridor is a collection of cobwebs, use a messy stack of telephone books, which rarely, and a pile of old shoes. So I started to give up a good old order and a mini-makeover. Here are some tips I would like to share with others.
1 pale and interesting
If your room is small and cramped, paint them a bright color. White and off-whites are great, ascool colors like blue and pale green. Another trick of the corridor appear wider - and one that is often overlooked - is to paint on the walls and ceiling the same color.
2 On the ground

To begin, go through all the shoes and dig up all the couples never worn and those that are worn only occasionally (can be kept in the bedroom).
If you have some 'space, buy a box of wood or wicker folding - or maybe a bench with a hinged lid. If you are really short of space, aWall-shoe wardrobe should do it. IKEA do some ', to suit all budgets and tastes change.
For coats and hats, the solution is quite similar. Remove everything that is worn only occasionally in the bedroom. Personally, if you do not have a lot of space, I would like to avoid a free-standing coat and clothes - is important for a lot of space. Treat yourself to a nice set of hooks to the wall instead. If you can not have the space, a unit with a series of hooks and a shelf over to work very well -You can keep the boxes or baskets shelf for gloves, hats and scarves.
If you have room for a small console table, trying to find a good drawer or cupboard below.
6 Do not be in the middle of nature!
Buy a good mat decking to be dragged in the dirt and moisture to prevent your newly renovated hall. Some of them is a matter of personal taste and you want to combine functionality with aesthetics. Discover the shops and see what's there. If yougo for a carpet of natural coconut, remember that even if these dirt quite well, are not very good at absorbing moisture - very important if you live in the UK!
